| Los Llanos de Aridane is the main town on the western side of the Island of La Palma, La Isla Bonita, in the Canary Islands.
It is a lively and thriving town in a wonderful setting close to the beaches at Puerto Naos and Tazacorte and to the entrance to the Caldera de Taburiente.
The town itself is a mixture of old world charm and the necessities of modern life. There are cobbled streets, a very old church, well restored Canary style buildings and ancient Laurisilver trees around the Plaza de Espana.
Los Llanos also has the facilities of a modern town with many shops, large supermarkets, restaurants, bars, several Internet Cafes. a large medical center and sports facilities.
Los Llanos is the hub of the bus routes on the western side of the island with regular services to Puerto Naos, Tazacorte, El Paso, Santa Cruz, Tijarafe, Puntagorda and Garafia.
If you prefer to hire a car the Los Llanos area is ideally situated for exploring the island.
The climate in the Los Llanos is mild throughout the year. It is seldom cold enough to need warm clothing and rarely gets too hot.
Los Llanos is not only the name of the town; it also lends its name to the municipal area which stretches up to the edge of the Caldera and down to the coast at Puerto Naos.
